Zyklon - Storm Detonation Live

The Emperor Strikes Back - 100%

zatoth12, April 22nd, 2006

Samoth and his minions return with their first official DVD release since forming Zyklon back in the turn of the millennium with concert footage from 2004's Partysan Open Air. I would like to point out that there are not a lot of crowd shots! That's right-you get to see the band and lots of the band. I mention this only because some videos have a tendency to give a lot of devotion to crowd shots, but Storm Detonation keeps it to a minimum. And see the band you do-with some of the clearest audio and video ever experienced of concert footage. The music is Zyklon-as furious as rabid hell hounds descending upon unsuspecting mortals-so be warned! This is not music for Clear Channel wimps! All the songs are great and I cannot pick one to single out for raving on as I usually do.

Zyklon has also loaded this CD up with lots of goodies, too - two videos for "Core Solution" and "Psyklon Aeon", both of which are played in the concert, a photo gallery slideshow, a discography and an excellent audio track of Zyklon's version of "Pull the Plug". But that's not all! There's rehearsal footage of snippets of new material (without words) for I'm guessing Disintegration, which follows the release of this DVD. There's also A LOT of backstage and on-the-road footage, which proves once and for all Samoth is indeed, as Dani Filth commented, "Lord of All Laughter and Beer", not that his bandmates are any more serious.

You get all this dark music and hilarity for a nice price as well. So, if you like extreme music, you have no reason not to buy this DVD.
