Initial copies came in a black slipcase with the Slayer logo cut out of the front.

Videos were made for Serenity in Murder and Dittohead.

On the song "Sex. Muder. Art.", the band played it as a trio, because Jeff Hanneman during the time of this album was drinking so much that this song could not be learned. Even at the band's concerts this song was played as a trio.

The lyrics of "Dittohead" are dedicated to conservative political commentator Rush Limbaugh.

The title "SS-3" comes from the license plate on the convertible of Reinhard Heydrich, head of the Reich Security Headquarters during World War II, one of the most obscure figures in the Nazi elite.

"213" refers to serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer's room number.
