There is a fictional story behind this album. On a card inside the digipak it is written: "Behold, worse than the malice of the shepherd is the ignorance of his herd... To know everything behind the story, check: http://www.meet-superior.de, http://www.ultimaratio2002.de". Both links are now defunct.

The story takes place at various locations and is set in various times (exact dates are listed in the booklet):
• London, UK (December 2000)
• Paris, France (October 2001)
• Mexico City, Mexico (September 2002)
• Paris, France (November 2002)
• Chicago, USA (November 2002)
• Mexico City, Mexico (December 2002)
• Santiago de Chile, Chile (January 2003)
• Berlin, Germany (February 2003)
• Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (April 2003)

The story seems to end with the following passage taken from the booklet:
"21.05.2534:
Keiroth hung himself two years after he shot Fisher. He wasn't able to cope with the fact of how big UltRa had become, even without its leader.

Eden vanished from the scene. No one knows what happened to her after the killing of Fisher.

The Ultima Ratio movement has been growing bigger ever since. The new religion tried to subjugate all the other big religious movements of the world in hundreds of years of war and terror. Much later they changed their concerted action of recruiting the credulous masses and came to glory under the cloak of the humanistic intelligence, finance and social welfare system."
