Redirected from The Tavern:

Just a few minutes ago I was using the MA Band Database without any problem. Then all of a sudden my anti-virus program (Avira Antivir) has started to warn me about a virus or unwanted program on any MA page. The forums don't have the same problem though.
Anybody else experiencing this, or actually caught some sort of infection?

It'll be looked into as soon as possible. I've told Morrigan and HellBlazer.

I found the same problem with the database, I was just on the IRC channel mentioning it.

Every time I've gotten infected with malware my Adobe Reader has opened up as a precursor. When the Acrobat plugin started acting up I knew something was wrong.

So yeah, there's an issue.

FX:
use no-skript and enable skripts manually

further: disable iframes and frames

Ahh, so it isn't just a problem with my computer. I hope it isn't too serious.

Same thing happened to me, didn't know that it was connected to this site.

Alright, they are looking into it as we speak. No need to be alarmed. But if any other developments come up, please notify us of them in this thread.

After my antivirus software warned me, came a popup mentioning about a update for windows against viruses. I just accidentally clicked ok and fortunately didnt download the so called "update". The download was coming from that address visible at the top "myart.ihaveit777.info". Good to have a working antivirus software it seems. Oh and this happened when browsing the forums.

I got Spyguard 2008 as a result of using this site yesterday, thankfully it was easily removed following these steps :

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/malware ... guard-2008

Maybe an admin could make this link known to everyone who got infected with this ostensibly helpful program.

I just could not get on to the site last night and just thought the servers where down which was right but i didnt think they had been hacked. Can't you trace the hackers IP address to find out where he was from. And seems abit pointless doing all of that anyway.

Be aware that Microsoft AntiVirus 2009 is not a legit program. I haven't encountered it here, but I figured I would post this FYI.

Basically, it downloads itself, "scans" your PC and find a bunch of "threats". For about $50, it will remove them. It's a scam, and it's rather difficult to remove from your PC.

It's a VERY deadly virus. It fucked up my PC some months ago. Now I can't change my default browser, and changed my screensaver to a fake blue screen of death.

Was this so called virus put on the Metal-Archives when it got hacked?
And can you still get it even now? or all the problems solved.

Where to disable this stuff ?
On Firefox, I see (translated from German...) Extras => Options => Content where I can disable Java-Scripts, but can't enable anywhere manually start of scripts.

Don't find anything for frames/iframes either :(

use:
http://noscript.net/

install it, restart the browser, click on the 'S' in the right corner of the browser, click 'Einstellungen' (Preferences) and disable frames and iFrames.

Now THAT'S what that was a few days ago..I got that pop-up but I did NOT select anything from the dialog, I just shut down and started up again.
