User vxdx is updating a lot of well-known bands. Not quite sure what he's doing, but he only has around 50 points.

Disgorge (US), Decrepit Birth, Viral Load, Necrophagist, Gorgasm (US), Cannibal Corpse, Inveracity, and others.

I think he's adding the "relapse merch" links, which seem as good as the other shop-links. So i guess the only problem is that the 2 words need to be written with capital letters.

only an admin can remove the first one. Two of the 2009 one should be removed.

Not point-whoring in the least, but please delete this release. User kimiwind added it as a split but it's a compilation between 6 different bands and therefore should not be listed. Thanks!

I will say to both of you that you have to use the report function.

kimiwind, you are aware that 6-way splits are not allowed, aren't you?

Edit: Zorg beat me to it by a few seconds...

Yes, it does. See rule number 4.

Quote:
That means NO bootlegs nor "Various artists" kind of compilations. A split album cannot have more than 5 participating bands, or else it sort of falls under the "VA compilation" category...

Yeah, he just fucked up Halcyon (US)'s page while doing the whole semi-pointless <b>Guitar:</b>, <b>Bass:</b>, list thing. I've corrected his mistake, though.

Edit: Add Castle Mountain to the list.

He also just lost all information on Epping Forest. How the hell does this guy have 10,000+ points???

And what's the point of doing THIS. I can understand organizing them if the band has a giant list of former members, but just three? Seems really pointless.

User Metalman617 keeps adding useless information to the additional notes of albums on various band pages. I'm currently attempting to track down the rest of the bands he's updated. Here's one. I'm assuming the false lyrics have been added by him as well.

http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=256650

Edit: He just added this release.

What Metalman is doing is basically asking for a ban. Good catch, KS.

I've deleted a bunch of other crap he submitted for Stryper, Metallica and 1000 Sins. I went through the most recently submitted releases, starting with 256651 and worked my way back about 50 entries. I think I got them all.

Would adding links to this site be point-whoring:
http://www.metalireland.com/miwiki/inde ... =Main_Page
this entry is [s]really good[/s] interesting for instance:
http://www.metalireland.com/miwiki/inde ... Arcane_Sun

it lacks sources, but it is interesting nevertheless.

Yes, there is some nice stuff there, but it is nothing but a fan page without sources and (at least a bit) biased; see what is written on their debut album; to put it in Wikipedia terms: neutrality is disputed.

Add it as a fan site, individuals can sort out the opinions of fans from a wealth of information there. If it is possible to fact-check information, then it should be done, but if there is very little information, even reviews can be valuable sources of information.

User oriffs is still adding the links to his shop/distro.

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=5779
http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=3540261669
http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=5704
http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=19022

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=32316
http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=2847

Seems to be only adding them to bands that start with a C.

User thrashbeer95 keeps adding "lyrics" for instrumental and intro tracks.

"This music is an instrumental" for instrumental tracks and "[intro]" for intro tracks.

http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=242819
http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=78990
http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=226911
http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=51330
http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=52086
http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=109468 (Tracks 1 and 10)
http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=228231
http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=48871
http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=50296

For live tracks he puts "This music is a concert's record". WTF!?

http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=144435
http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=17941
http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=61145
http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=116988

I believe he also added opinionated information to the additional notes of this album:

http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=51060

There is also the possibility that he added this release with no track-listing. If a moderator could check, that would be great.

:durr: That was submitted back in 2004 and remained unnoticed until now. Added by Sacult, who has apparently been dursted already.

Edit: Found a Wisdom (Pry) release she added without track listing too.
