Obviously I don't want to be a whore and so I ask if official facebook, last.fm, and twitter accounts for a band are acceptable as links?

they CAN be useful in case they do not have any other online site.

btw:
should this release
http://www.metal-archives.com/release.php?id=252158
not be added to the additional notes of the first demo?

deamonpig is going through all newly added bands and adds track lengths 1 by 1 (ex: Shellshock (Col), Demise (Esp, etc)

I noticed this guy "nimdesign" has 854 !!! points: no reviews, no submissions and I never saw him updating bands before "Armadura (Ven)"

It's very suspicious

"great" what grimdoom does on so many pages but someone should tell him to be more careful: he fucked up completely Cryptic Carnage page, he erased all former members by fucking up the <b>instrument code

And its not the 1st time he does this

deamonpig keeps adding track lengths 1 by 1

Some minutes ago he had 494 points and now he's up to 513 (and he just updated 2-3 bands maximum)

Probably updated the Riot page +9 times fixing the album pages and I'll be adding dates for members (not all of them) shortly. I'm really getting sick of whoever is changing them to fit with periods and no spaces. I understand that in Europe a lot of placemarks are by periods, but if this site is run under the English language, it should be done using English grammar.

I don't want to see shit like this again (I notice it primarily with classic heavy metal bands):

track 1.2.5.3. by moor. reale .flynz,
track.4. by paice. (DEEP-PURPL)E cover.

Just cleaned up the Riot page again. Terrible whoever put their entire history in the additional notes. Just go to wikipedia, sheesh.

Not pointwhoring Sledgehammer Autopsy' page. A lot has happened, and someone changed my updates to the page. Hopefully adding some insight to the additional notes field will stop people from reversing my work.

I know this may be off-topic, but I can't find a forum about it, but what constitutes my status in the forum here? It says there I am a mallcore kid but based off my points I'm a Metal Newbie, which I find less insulting. IS it just that I don't post in the forum or...

It wasn't capital_metal, he's not a veteran. That is a cover-up account to hide who really did it.

For all the veteran users (+500 point users), once in a while when you're checking out a band page, just click on some of the links at the bottom of the page. I've been on Hellveto's page recently for album info, but I checked out a few of the links at the bottom and a good 20% of them are dead or link to something completely different.

Just saying because it's a good way to clean-up the page a little and doesn't require too much work.

Before deleting any link immediately, always be sure to paste the URL within the link (found on the band page) at Archive.org and see what you can find. If you find something worthwhile and valid for the band page, just update the link with it.

They also have my old Profanatica page (most of it) that was removed by those fags at Geocities back in '03.

It's great. I also had no knowledge of it until recently. I discovered it after viewing Demenekan's profile.

M-A's forum in the early days... Pretty interesting.

I wonder how an internet veteran like yourself didn't know about archive.org.

Everyone should do as ksevile said. Sometimes the only info you can find about a certain band is on some site that went offline, so archive.org is very important in such cases.

The Wayback Machine has become important since Geocities has shut its doors. A lot of links have to be replaced.

Someone added lyrics to the song "Submission is for the Weak." I find it difficult to imagine he or she is not trolling for points, given the transcription provided:

Quote:
(Warning: this may not be the Original Lyrcis)
Dry out your knee!! Label!! lalala!! Wilco ! Walk devil!! Eternal Bluff !! Spank Someone's blond!! E-MAIL!! Teddy ate your fucking Slip!!

i'm Wanted !! So??Teddy! Teddy i Need you!! Tournament !! Forget The Fish!! Slap ! Pilow !! Fucking low!! Humanity!! Your Fucking burger!!

Timmy Surrender!!!

(03:12) ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????(03:38)

the Surface Shift ! Banished Shrek agh!! what for ? One Relief! Can Sink? a New Cabin! Seer the Horizon.. Ant!!!!!

Luther in the ass of...you!!Whale , oasis , maybe , pong
Submission is for the wig!!!

Also, the lyrics for "The Destroying Angel" from the Eschaton album contain phrases like "not sure what he says here" in some parts, though whoever put it there at least appears to have made a serious attempt at deciphering the lyrics (compared to the one above), so it might not necessarily be an example of point whoring.

User n0ne0815 is going through bands beginning with "A." He doesn't even have 15 points, so these updates are questionable.

Edit: Nevermind, when I checked he had 12, but 5 minutes later (time of this edit) he's past 30.

Looks like he was adding merchandise links for Ashen Productions. The ones I noticed were for Azaghal (Fin) and Agmen (now removed).

He also just tried submitting a new band's release without track listing.

Astrofaes is another band he messed with - probably the same issue. Sorry for not catching all the pages, mods.
