They have split.
Guy who add this band put this split two times and later this was removed...
So now I wait for split again.

I'm not trying to be a nag, but I'm really curious as to why you guys consider Joey Tafolla (and Vinnie Moore, for that matter) metal and "acceptable" for this database, whereas Tony MacAlpine is "unmetal" and unacceptable. On the basis of which album is Vinnie Moore considered "metal"? Mind's Eye is almost identical in style to Edge of Insanity, Time Odyssey is fairly lightweight pseudo-fusion, Meltdown is beer-commercial rock ala Joe Satriani's "Surfing With the Alien... Need I go on?

By the way, MacAlpine's "Chromaticity" has more riffs than any Vinnie Moore or Joey Tafolla album.

Again, not trying to be a nag, just really curious and confused.

I'd also like to point out that I am a huge fan of all three guitarists; I've listened to Mind's Eye literally hundreds of times, therefore I feel somewhat qualified to make the comparison.

If I remember it correctly, it was MMisantropo who blacklisted Tony MacAlpine, so he's probably the one who could answer your question. I dunno who accepted Joey Tafolla.

Do not delete any bands without checking a google cache.

http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=3540261127 --> They had a split with Apocalypse 4, but the latter was deleted, so the split went with it.
http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=63716. --> Their myspace says that they've released one demo. You can easily find their demo for download, which was actually released as a split with another chilean band which is in MA.
http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=85788 --> Had two releases which were deleted. One of their albums can be found in spirit-of-metal.
http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=45677 --> Had one release which was deleted. The information about it, which was probably taken from MA, can be found here. GoreViking is behind the band.

Malformed Nature http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=97702

Highly suspicious. The demo has only one song and has no cover art. This is not the type of a death/gindcore band. Also, Myspace indicates that the track "kill" is for promotion, not mentioning its physical release. So I recommend to delete it.

I'm not so familiar with either Joey Tafolla or Vinnie Moore as I am with MacAlpine's solo career. I'll give Out of the Sun a through listen, that seems to be his most metal oriented album.

Anyway, it's always easier to reject than to delete a band, since the latter implies overriding a fellow moderator's decision. And I wasn't even a mod back when those acts were added.

I'd say that bands accepted back in 2002 are easier to delete. Standards were different back then and those who were accepting bands in 2002 stopped doing it for a few years already.

Thanks for your replies and information, MMisantropo and Evenfiel. I had a feeling that something like that must be the case, but I wasn't sure.

By the way, MMisantropo, I know you say you are quite familiar with Tony MacAlpine's back catalogue (as am I, he's my favorite guitarist) but have you ever listened to Tony's "Master of Paradise" album? This album teeters between a slightly lighter Dream Theater on several songs and full on power metal in others (a bit like the Ring of Fire stuff he was involved in). Tony does all of the vocals on this album as well.

No, I haven't heard it. BTW, I won't be able to download and listen to anything for a couple of weeks.

Perhaps I'm a little in the dark as to what constitutes gothic metal, but from what I've heard on their myspace (which is four of the five tracks from their EP), only one and arguably a second seem to be riff-driven. On the whole, the band sounds like Evanescence... which is to say, mallgoth rock with delusions of being metal.

If you took out the pianos and the gothier-than-thou attitude, I highly doubt Raven Tide would have ever been accepted.

That sounds like normal gothic metal to me.

Haha, you are fast.
I don't know why but when I searched them on MA I couldn't find them.
And few minutes later i saw two Blood Division's :|

EDIT:
Now I know why. on label/distro website they are misspelled : "Blood Divsion" - I copy/paste to MA
and later I get Blood Division from their myspace...
