I still don't understand that Les discrets isn't in the archives. Their music music is closer to Agalloch, Ulver's first album and Alcest's first album than Shoegaze and Post-Rock. Anyway, they have very little of Shoegaze... Just listen their debut...

Their music is not metal at all- no aggresive metal riffs, no metal song structures etc.
They have been discussed countless time here.
Alcest Souvenirs album is not metal either.

Interesting anecdote... when Les Discrets were brought up last time, I was staying up writing a reply to this thread when my girlfriend asked what I was doing. I told her I was writing a reply on MA about Les Discrets. She must've thought I was telling somebody something about the band.

Her: "Couldn't you just link them to the page on MA instead?"
Me: "You mean Les Discrets' profile on MA...?"
Her: "Yes?"
Me: "They're not listed on the 'Archives."
(short pause) "... why not? D:" *confused*

So yeah, seems as though a lot of people think to consult the archives to reference Les Discrets... but yeah, just saying. ;)

Because the band is crust grind, not death metal -based grindcore.

So why there is bands like Dysmorfic(crust/grind) or Jobcrusher(crust/grind/thrash) on metal-archives?

Either they are metal enough or they are mistakes. Besides that, bands are judged individually and the rules are clear, so even if there was a mistake, it gives you no right to demand for a crustcore band to be listed here.

I submitted Abaddon from New Mexico. A death metal band with a CD, Funkin' Murderers, released in 1995. It was however rejected due to a lack of information or no apparent discography.

Here's a photo of the CD booklet and a link to an mp3 proving that they exist.

MP3:

I'm not sure what the next step is...but I'd like for them to be included in the archive.

The band Inferzenal (Mexico) was rejected because it has no apparent disco, but thats wrong because if you a quick google search you will find out it has a discography, they are even offering their album for free online for a limited time

http://www.mediafire.com/?ye1zmr9eydbbf11

someone download, listen to it and accpet my submission of Inferzenal (Mexico) because it was rejected unfairly

thanks

The release must be physical and you have to prove it. Read the first post in this thread.

I have just submitted Blood Meridian (Indian death metal). I don't know if I should be posting here or not. I just came because the band hasn't released anything yet, but their EP will be releasing a week later (Feb 11) through Demonstealer Records. Here's proof:

Songsamples or reviews. The book has listed also hard rock, boogie rock and progressive rock bands as nwobhm, so it is flawed.
And be more polite, read the first post in this thread. Profanities will no help you at all.

Why side -project need to be debated?

If they're 'metal' enough to stay here, just let 'em stay here.

Hello, my band submission for the band Download (DownloadVA for web search purposes) was rejected because of a lack of discography. When I was doing the discography, I was pulling an image off of their myspace page, and my computer froze up. Gotta love myspace, lol. They have a full length double cd, and an ep. I was also going to post a bunch of links to their various websites, which has audio and video, so you could see for yourself. Unfortunately, when I got back on the site, there was no way to add anything to the extent that I wanted to add. With your permission, I'd like to resubmit with the discography and links.

Hi guys, I think that this is the right place to ask - you just rejected my submission for Unhumanity (Bgr) - maybe the reason is that the mods don't believe that the band have physical release, and if it's true, here is the proof:
http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/qq23 ... G_8816.jpg
http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/qq23 ... G_8815.jpg
The whole album is available on MySpace:
http://www.myspace.com/unhumanity
I don't believe that the band is rejected because of lack of metalness or something... but you must say.

Crackhead Killer was never a continuation of Overkill L.A. or SST Overkill. Crackhead Killer was a metal band. What I found amusing is how you deleted the record of us while keeping many other obscure Overkill bands that didn't even do a recording at all.

The other Overkill bands are metal and have physical releases. Read the guidelines or the first post in this thread. If find amusing how you blatantly lie to get your point across. There are no Overkill bands without releases. Also read, what the first post says about arguing.
If you want to discuss a band, do it without mindless accusations.

Well blatently lie I don't do, just didn't state my actual point.
All those other bands released strictly demos. I was talking about releases on independent or major labels. Even the English Overkill didn't do more than record a demo. It's your site, and you can do what you want to do with it. But comparing Crackhead Killer to Overkill L.A or SST Overkill is like comparing apples and oranges. It was a metal band, and that was it.

O.K., but even on their own , the band is quite borderline, some of the songs sound rather punkish.

Hi there. Just wondering why my band Perihelion is being rejected. I feel that we meet all the credentials necessary as listed in the rules. We play death metal, and have a physical release with printed discs and covers (not just some sharpied cd-r), and we play death metal.

What do I need to do to get our band on here?

Hi,

This band: http://www.myspace.com/bdjapan sounds metal enough especially the newest releases (check the 2011 tracks added on myspace's player) I think it should be removed from the black list.

Opinions?

So the email says it was rejected because I already submitted this band once before. The first time it was rejected because I didn't send proof of a physical release (ie: tinypic link to the album cover). So now what do I do when it gets automatically rejected when I try to send proof of the physical release?

Mods?

Anyone?

Hi,
This is my first post, but I've used the site for years. I submitted the band Imbroglio and it was rejected for a lack of a discography. I was not sure how the submissions worked, if I had to send you links or if you guys had your own way of finding a discography or verifying that the band is metal enough.

So here is a link to their discography which have both been released physically.

And here is a link to their myspace page and official page.

The band has also had extremely positive reviews by sites like; Metal Injection, Noisecreep, Decibel Magazine, and Invisible Oranges.

I hope this is enough information to get this great band a page on Encyclopedia Metallum. Thanks!
