I think Iron Will is an album I'll never get tired of. I Am The North just redefines epic.

This guy's name made me laugh, although it may be unintentional.

Can all the regulars have some witty/humorous/etc title for those not having one?

Something along the lines Doomworld does maybe?

The new titles over there come up at random it seems. Look at mine

Sounds much better than King of the Grey Islands. That album was decent but this sounds fucking awesome. The new vocalist sounds a lot better in these samples--kind of like they were written for him.

The new Wolf album looks like a psychobilly album. Which I kind of like, but not as much as the pure slayage of the last one. The single is very different from anything I've heard from them, and the singer learned how to sing. Somehow I think it takes away from their charm, but I still like it.

And in another unexpected twist, I like this, too:

Ugh, STEEP decline in quality from their last album if this song is any indication. Not sure what you mean by that bit about the singer, he's always sounded fine to me and I don't really notice him being a better vocallist in this new song.

edit: and if the riffs in that Hammerfall song were any more generic they would be a single power chord played over and over. How can you like that!? Well, the solo is alright.

@Gnu

Wolfheart is great.

More variety to his vocals + more traditional sounding singing, rather than the strange warbling he's always been known for. Believe me, I like him better before too.

I like the HammerFall song because it actually seems to have some personality; just one of those odd things that strikes me. I know the rest of the album will probably be just as bland as ever, but eh.

God dammit, if I just didn't pull something in my neck headbanging furiously to Vader's "Xeper". Such a badass fucking song, I swear Vader are quite possibly the best death metal band...

That part (and entire sequence) was so amazingly over the top, yet the level of awesome is off the charts.

So what exactly is this love affair with Ceremonial Castings? What I've heard was either nothing special or laughably bad circus metal resembling the most recent Abigor album. This is strikes me as one of the bands that gives USBM a bad name.

"Barbaric is the Beast" is a pretty good album, not impressed by the new one. "Immortal Black Art" is ok, nothing special. Those are the only ones I've heard.

Barbaric is far from USBM though. It's more like melodic black/death (hate to say "brutal melodic black/death", but it fits).

Ugh, THAT'S the single? Fortunately, I know at least one other track on the album is up to par for them. "Curse You Salem" reminds me a bit of "In The Eyes Of The Sun," but better that than... "Voodoo"...

I miss the ferocious guitar tone on the debut, though. It's still kind of there, but heavily washed out thanks to the production.

Excellent stuff, Leif and Robert are the insurmountable doom duo as far as I'm concerned, and this album looks to be no exception. From what I've heard I prefer King of the Grey Islands (one of my most loved albums, and my first Candlemass album) but this is certainly very, very strong. Reminds me of Nightfall but better, probably because Robert Lowe is better than Messiah. :)

I still like Wolf's Return better than Iron Will... I do like Iron Will quite a bit, though I just can't get the opening part of Wolf's Return out of my head whenever I think of Grand Magus. That part is just so awesome.
