This album is an absolute banger of 80's metal, if you don't mind vocals sung in spanish, Barón Rojo were an amazing band back in the early 80's - their first three albums are essential.

Barón Rojo wrote one of the catchiest, coolest, most badass Heavy Metal bangers of all time (objectively speaking)

I was listening to this album earlier today when coming home from work, and it just really dawned on me how fucking awful this cover is. I can barely tell what is even going on in it, I can see feet and chains, but otherwise it just looks like a jumbled mess, if the title didn't have Prometheus in it, I wouldn't even be able to guess that (the reason I can see something after I look at it for long enough is because of the context of the title), which isn't even the only problem, the text doesn't have good contrast, in general it's just a bad artwork, it's bland, ugly, unmemorable. Some art is legendarily bad, some is bland but harmless, this is just a failure in ALL accounts.

I'd also like to throw in the cover for IX Equilibrium as well, mainly for adding in the band members, which I find completely unnecessary.

The IX Equilibrium and Prometheus covers are good. Not the best, but they're not as bad as y'all are saying they are.

Honestly, I'm fine with IX Equilibrium, but I just can't say I find Prometheus' cover good. It's definitely not as bad as the majority of covers in this thread, not even close, but it's still pretty unremarkable, especially since their previous albums had mostly monochromatic cover arts and they all looked good, I consider Prometheus more of a case of bad execution. My initial post was definitely hyperbolic now that I read it again.

This band has a lot of amateurish covers, the artwork tends to be fine or even good, but the text always clashes with the piece, which makes it look weird. And then there's this one which actually is just bad in every way, including the art itself.

I haven't heard Trench Ripper, but I don't understand why you would have such a shitty, low quality CG album cover in 2023... I mean, if you don't want to pay an artist you could still easily stitch together some free stock photos or prompt an AI for a much better result. This looks like the sketch you'd send to an artist to describe what you want
