The band takes its name from the ancient Egyptian lunar deity Khonsu, which translates as "traveller" or "pathfinder", in reference to the moon's path across the night sky. Some of the imagery used has it origins in ancient Egyptian art, such as the sun disk and crescent moon which can be found crowning Khonsu's head.

Khonsu were formed under the name Merah, however due to events in France ...
