Nephenzy was formed in the summer of 1995, and released their demo "Stolen Blessing" in mid-1996. With that demo, they gained a record deal with Black Diamond Productions. After the recording of "Promo Anno 97", the drummer, Fredrik, left the band and a new drummer, Kim, entered the band. With this lineup, Nephenzy recorded their debut album "Where Death Becomes Art", released in autumn 1997.
