Formed in 1992 under the name Kristos Mortis featuring Mathias Johansson and Peter Haglund (under the pseudonyms "Rrooaarr" and "Aargh"). They recorded one rehearsal demo (not officially released) prior to the name change, entitled "Autumn 1992 Rehearsal" (track listing: Intro/ Burning Churches/ Desecration of the Holy One).

The band's name was taken from Celtic Frost's song of the same title.
