The band began as raw black metal, then for the 3rd album started to have martial industrial influences. Ixtaukayotl disbanded in December 2010, and reunited in January 2012; then Tánatos joined the band for the 3rd full-length.
Due to unknown troubles, the band split up again in 2017.
