Kivimetsän Druidi originally started as a two-man project of the Koskinen brothers.

In Finnish, the band's name means "druid of the stone forest."

Their lyrics tell stories from an original fantasy setting called The Land of the Crystal Mountain and Stone Forest, first created for a novel that Joni Koskinen was writing in the early 2000s.
