It's unclear when Candles Burning Blue had formed, but it's known that they had added the word "The" in front of their name in 1997. The name is taken from Lewis Spence's The Encyclopedia of Occult (1920). After taking a break briefly during part of 1999/2000 they reformed for 5 more years, disbanding in November 2005.
