The band's name is a reference to an old Norse Myth told in Snorri Sturluson's Prose Edda where, in order to obtain knowledge from the well of Mímir, the God Óðinn has to sacrifice his eye by setting it in the well.

Eye of Odin contributed for Vox Europa 2 album, an album with other neo-nazi bands like Squadron, with the song "The Hammer of War".
