The band scored a record deal with Ebony Records (in Hull) prior to Steve McKay joining. Two LPs were released, then Blade Runner broke contract with Ebony because of poor support. They relocated to Derby briefly prior to splitting up.

Gary Jones later founded the hard rock band Phantasm along with drummer Dave Dufort, vocalist Carol Hendrix and second guitarist Mark Wilde.
