Hagal or Hagalaz is the rune of disruption and is the ninth rune in the Elder Futhark. The word itself means "Hail" and is associated with the weather; usually in a disruptive and destructive sense. It is usually used metaphorically for a person's life in rune readings if the person is having or about to have a turbulent time.
