Starting under the name Samhain, the four-piece eventually signed with Germany's Noise Records under the name Deathrow, and were almost immediately met with controversy when, unbeknownst to the band, their 1986 debut "Riders of Doom" was renamed "Satan's Gift" for the American market. A tour of Europe followed with Possessed and Voivod, and shortly afterward came 1987's follow-up album, "Raging ...
